Champions League 2022 Round of 16 – Sponsorship Breakdown

The UEFA Champions League returned last week with the first of this tournament’s knockout rounds. So far, they have proved to be very entertaining.

We looked into the sponsors of the remaining 16 teams who are fighting it out for the “Champions of Europe” title.

When it comes to the kit manufacturers there is very little diversity, with 13 out of the 16 teams having kits made by either Nike or Adidas (Nike have the edge by 1). The remaining 3 teams have Puma, New Balance & Joma.

There is a much larger spread when looking into front of shirt sponsor sectors, 9 across the 16 teams. Airline, Finance & Telecoms lead the way with 3 each.

The only brand to be sponsoring 2 teams remaining in the tournament is Emirates.
